Instrument & Controls Engineer - Contract
My client based on Teesside has several immediate start vacancies for Instrument & Control Engineers for new projects.
The overall job purpose is the provision of specialist & general technical expertise in support of the project teams.
This is a design based role. The main activities are:
Design, configuration and testing of Instrumentation & Control Systems
Preparation of scheme designs, C & E diagrams, control loop diagrams, schedules
Preparing project documentation; Functional Design Specifications, Testing, Operational and Maintenance documents.
Design calculations
Equipment procurement including; specification, enquiry, bid analysis, ordering & expediting
Supervision of site activities including sub-contractors
Supervision and approval of design, FAT, SAT project activities
Project cost & budget awareness
Provide expert technical support and guidance for all live projects and tenders
Develop personal technical competence
Keeping up to date with changes to applicable UK and European legislation
Keeping up to date with and technological advances and new products
Notes of meeting & report writing
Quality systems compliance
Your career profile will show that you will have:
A Degree (or equivalent industry experience) in a relevant discipline
Significant industry related experience in Instrument Control
A proven track record of technical involvement on EPC type capital and/or revenue projects
Appreciation and understanding of relevant UK, European & international standards, codes of practice and procedures
Working knowledge of high integrity SIL rated systems with a a relevant qualification will be an advantage
A strong working ability using MS Office desktop applications and project management software
Oil & Gas experience in the field
Offshore qualification an advantage but not essential
Working knowledge of current instrumentation technologies and measurement techniques
